(Top40 Charts/ Beale Street Music Festival) - Known around the country as the showcase of a legendary musical style, the Beale Street Music Festival 2009 brings together music's leaders and legends sharing four stages in an event that defines Memphis' music. Corporate sponsors Budweiser, Sam's Town, and Cellular South partner with Memphis in May International Festival and its talent booker, New Orleansbased, Beaver Productions, to present 60 musical acts scheduled to appear May 1-3, 2009 in Tom Lee Park.

The dynamic music festival's diversity of music including rock, rhythm and blues, alternative, soul, rap, and contemporary hits is evident in its 2009 line-up that also includes recent Grammy winners and nominees, Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Winners, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees and legendary Memphis music acts. Artists include such diverse performers as The All-American Rejects, Steve Miller Band, Al Green, 311, James Taylor, Katy Perry, Korn, Fall Out Boy, Ben Harper & Relentless 7, Tommy Castro, Snoop Dogg, John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, Shinedown, Hinder, John Lee Hooker, Jr., George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Bonnie Raitt, Three 6 Mafia, Elvis Costello, The Cult, The Roots, G. Love & Special Sauce, Jack's Mannequin, Los Lobos, Rise Against, Saving Abel, Amos Lee, Susan Tedeschi, Theory of a Deadman, Dead Confederate, Matt Nathanson, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Thriving Ivory and others.

Beale Street Music Festival has historically taken great pride in presenting musical talent with Memphis roots. The tradition continues in 2009 most notably with Al Green whose last performance at the festival was in 1995. The Blues Tent is always one of the most popular venues at the event, and is virtually guaranteed in 2009 with Ronnie Baker Brooks, Lurrie Bell, Bonnie Bramlett, Shane Dwight, Hubert Sumlin, Cedric Burnside & Lightin' Malcolm, Michael Burks, Curtis Salgado, Sherman Robertson, Damon Fowler, and Guitar Shorty. The SoCo Blues Shack, added in 2008 as another Blues venue will host Richard Johnston, Blind Mississippi Morris and Robert "Wolfman" Belfour.

This year, Memphis in May International Festival salutes The Republic of Chile and the Beale Street Music Festival will honor the country's musical heritage on Saturday and Sunday with performances by noted Chilean rock group group, Chancho En Piedra.
