JACKSONVILLE, FL. (Top40 Charts/ Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions) - The small advertising sticker that came attached to the cover Edgar Winter's brand new and long awaited CD, "Rebel Road" states in bold letters that "Rock n' roll is back!" Well, I'm here to bear witness that there is absolutely no false advertising there! In fact, that simple statement could very well be the understatement of the year. It could just as easily be said that Edgar Winter's new CD "Rebel Road" could very well be one of the best rock albums of the year; as this CD is nothing less than an absolute smoker! But of course, that would next to impossible to fit all of that info on that one in a half by one in a half inch enticement sticker; let alone mention all the details of everything this outstanding CD has to offer, such as all of the numerous celebrated and world renowned artists that contributed extremely high caliber performances on this CD, and other very noteworthy details well worth writing about. So of course, we at Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions will be glad to fill fans in and tell you all about it.

For millions of fans of legendary performer Edgar Winter that have been thoroughly well rocked by Edgar's music for well over three decades and for 20 or so albums since the beginning of his career, it is hard to even fathom how Edgar Winter has indeed managed to outdo even himself on his recently released new CD, "Rebel Road". Many of those who have heard this new CD would go as far to say that his latest CD, (released on Airline Records), is perhaps is his greatest release yet. It certainly has all the elements and excellence in musicianship and songwriting that fans have come to expect from this great artist. ...And then some!

From the first notes, to the very ending notes on this dynamic CD, Edgar delivers to fans a musical hard driving thrill ride down Rebel Road, in a fast moving classic, super-modified for racing, with great handling in all the twists and turns, by exhibiting Edgar's immense hot rodding prowess as a master musician on a number of instruments ranging from synthesizer, piano, organ and saxophone. Edgar's vocals are better than ever, with Edgar running the full gauntlet of his extreme vocal capabilities ranging from belting out at his best, with a voice even bigger than his native state of Texas, on tracks such as "Rebel Road", "Eye on You", "The Power of Positive Drinking", "Rockin' the Blues", "I'd Do it Again", "Texas Tornado", "On The Horns of a Dilemma" and "Oh No No"; as well as exercises the smoother side of his extreme vocal prowess while cruising listeners through songs "Freedom", "The Closer I Get" and "Peace and Love".

No doubt, Edgar Winter has definitely brought great rock n' roll back on this CD. ...REAL rock n' roll', the kind that will take you back to that place and time in music history when rock n' roll was at it's best; (which of course, Edgar Winter certainly took his place in that history and left his mark), yet his new CD is capable of setting the new standard in today's rock n' roll, and is a safe bet that this CD is destined to become one of tomorrow's great rock classics. (Which is nothing new for Edgar Winter). Further keeping true with Edgar Winter tradition, he drives this tricked out rock n' roll ride well past the limits of just one genre, taking new listeners and long time fans alike cruisin' on an adventure through the blues, as well as into territories of honky tonk, country and even funk.

What is more, Edgar Winter enlists the musical expertise of some of the finest musicians in the industry, making "Rebel Road" all the more exceptional. Edgar's own band consisting of Doug Rappoport (Guitars), and Koko Powell (Bass), and others, are indeed heavy hitting performers, more than capable of pulling off a great CD; but yet another thing that Edgar Winter is world renown for, is a history of featuring phenomenal guest performers on his albums.

That same one and a half inch by one and a half inch enticement sticker, (remember the sticker?), reads
"Featuring guest appearances by Slash, Clint Black and Johnny Winter"; and indeed their performances on this CD were nothing short of stellar, as their individual signature sounds made a great contribution to this CD. What could not have been fit on that small sticker is the names of a multitude of other renowned, world class guest performers as:
James "Zota" Baker, (War), contributing either on acoustic and electric guitars as well as bass and backing vocals throughout this CD, as well as delivering some very notably mean slide guitar work on tracks "Power of Positive Drinking" and "Peace and Love"...
Curt Cuomo, (Kiss, Eddie Money)...
Gary Novak, (Michael McDonald, Natalie Cole, David Sanborn, Anita Baker, George Benson, Chick Corea, Alanis Morissette), can be heard throwing down some of his signature (and lead footed) finesse on drums on tracks "Eye on You", "Freedom" and "I'd Do It Again"...
With the likes of BOTH Mark "The Bass Cowboy" Meadows, (Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Queen Latifa, Bonnie Raitt, Meredith Brooks, Rick Derringer, Lisa Loeb, Dweezil Zappa), AND Matt Bissonette, (Ringo Starr, Joe Satriani, Don Henley, Boz Skaggs, Gino Vanelli, Julian Lennon, Steve Perry, Peter Frampton), performing on bass on this CD, you KNOW beyond a doubt that there is no lack of bottom end on Edgar Winter's latest CD "Rebel Road".
The list of guest performers contributing their expertise on this CD also goes on further to include such great performers as: Abe Laboriel, (Paul McCartney, Steve Vai, B.B. King, Les Paul, LeAnn Rimes, Sting, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton, Shakira, Jewel, Meredith Brooks, Ringo Starr, Melissa Etheridge)...
Dean Parks, (Steely Dan, Clay Aiken, Chet Adkins, Hoyt Axton, Anita Baker, George Benson, Clint Black, Toni Braxton, Jackson Browne, Joe Cocker, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Lowell George, Vince Gill, B.B. King, Lyle Lovett, Stevie Nicks)...
Dave Carpenter, (Buddy Rich, Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, David Sanborn, Celine Dion, Jackson Browne, Bernie Taupin, Ringo Starr, Michael McDonald)...
Cameron Stone, (Clay Aiken, Avenged Sevenfold, Travis Tritt, Melissa Etheridge, Tracy Chapman,
Jewel, Herbie Hancock, Percy Sledge)...
Erik Ron...
Jimmy Paxson, (Alanis Morissette, Rod Stewart, Robben Ford, Ronnie Montrose)...
Pete Maloney, (Dishwalla, Rita Cooledge, Tonic, Bette Midler)...
Ross Hogarth, (Doobie Brothers, Ziggy Marley, Jonas Brothers, Jimmy Eat World, Lifehouse)...
And Matt Laug (Alanis Morissette, Slash, Christine Aguilera, Meredith Brooks, Cher, Eddie Money, Alice Cooper, Lifehouse, Pat Benatar, Donna Summer).
The caliber of names listed in the credits alone on Edgar Winter's sizzling new CD "Rebel Road" lends further credence to the statement that rock n' roll is indeed back! ...And who better to bring it?!

As if all the outstanding music and celebrated featured guests weren't enough to make Edgar Winter's new CD one of the best rock CDs of this year, Edgar Winter gives even more entertainment to his fans by adding a seven page insert of up close and personally written insight into the man, (as well as the musician), and provides some great stories which make for some excellent reading.
