New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Evolution Promotion) - Debut E.P. Wrong Side just released with live support dates in the UK and forthcoming dates in the US.After establishing themselves as one of the Nashville alternative music scene's hottest new bands, Samantha Gibb and The Cartel are set to embark on a first UK tour to promote their much-anticipated new E.P. Wrong Side.

Originally hailing from Miami Beach, Samantha Gibb and The Cartel gained their name from the reaction in Tennessee to their Florida roots and Hispanic band members when people would often say 'here comes the cartel' when they performed live. However the group's name is apt as a cartel is defined as 'a union between independent forces in the interest of a common goal' and in many ways this is a perfect description of the dynamic that drives the music.

Fronted by Samantha Gibb, the band's lead singer has a unique musical birthright most artists would kill for, but it wasn't until the formation of The Cartel that she truly found her true voice. The daughter of late Bee Gees singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Maurice Gibb, Samantha formed The Cartel when she joined musical forces with guitarist Lazaro Rodriguez and bassist Nick Sallons and began recording in Miami. All three band members suffered a huge loss when Maurice passed away in 2003, and they released their first recordings together under his initials M.E.G. in tribute to his memory.

In 2007, the trio decided to move to Nashville, to be a part of the city's flourishing alternative music scene and under their new name they have refined their unique blend of influences and recorded an EP that captures the spirit of their home. Indeed the band were so taken with their new base, they produced a critically-acclaimed documentary A Nashville State of Mind about the city's music scene and Nashville's influence can be heard on every note of their new release - and from the sultry, tango-inflected 'My Spell,' and the driving riffs and worldly-wise message of 'Take It Easy,' to the dramatic, Roy Orbison-esque acoustic balladry of 'I'll Stay,' and the chugging rock riffs and pop-perfection harmonies of the title track, Wrong Side is the product of three powerful, distinct musical personalities coming together with spectacular beautiful results.
