CLEVELAND, OH. (Hoffman Ent./ www.katevoegele.com) - Singer/songwriter and 17-year old phenomenon Kate Voegele was just officially added to the bill at Farm Aid 2004, Presented by Silk Soymilk, which takes place this year in Auburn, Washington (just outside of Seattle) on Saturday, September 18.
Farm Aid, founded almost 20 years ago by John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson and Neil Young, and further championed in 2001 by Dave Matthews, is an annual concert to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on their land. Voegele will be joining the above-mentioned artists, as well as Jerry Lee Lewis, Marc Broussard, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle and several others.

Kate Voegele has an industry buzz going like no one in Northeast Ohio in quite some time, let alone anyone her own age in any part of the world. After her performance, Voegele will fly to Los Angeles to record some tracks with producer Marshall Altman (Marc Broussard, Zebrahead) and engineer Joe Zook (Remy Zero, Marc Broussard).
She was also selected as a finalist for Northern Ohio Live's 2003-2004 Awards of Achievement, recently signed a management deal with New York-based Hoffman Entertainment and was one of three national finalists in the Pantene Pro-Voice Competition this past July, receiving national exposure on MTV.

Hearing Kate Voegele perform, you might wonder what parents are feeding their kids these days. Not only does the 17-year-old have a great voice, she has the songwriting ability of someone twice her age.
In her debut release, The Other Side, Voegele combines thoughtful lyrics with unforgettable hooks to create a masterful and melodic acoustic rock project. Fans of this genre can easily formulate a comparison to Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, or even a young Patty Griffin.
