LOS ANGELES (Ramones official Website) - Services for Dee Dee Ramone are scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday (June 11) at an undisclosed location. Ramone, whose real name was Douglas Glenn Colvin, passed away last week of an apparent accidental drug overdose in his Los Angeles apartment.

Upon hearing the news, Ramone's New York-based friends flew into Los Angeles, including former Ramones' manager Danny Fields, former bandmates Tommy Ramone and C.J. Ramone, producer Daniel Rey, graphic designer Arturo Vega, his ex-wife Vera, and his mother.

At the time of his death, Ramone had been an active and prolific artist, playing around town with his current lineup, performing both original songs and Ramones classics. He had also been showing his paintings and finishing his third book, Legend of a Rock Star, which is due out this summer.

The Dee Dee Ramone show scheduled to take place this Friday (June 14) at Sunset Strip's Key Club in L.A. is now being turned into a tribute night. On Saturday (June 15) night, members of Ramone's band are planning a memorial jam at the Cat Club with proceeds from the evening to be given to Ramones' wife Barbara.
