NEW YORK (Polyphonic HMI) - In December 2005 co-founder and CEO of Polyphonic HMI Mike McCready and VP North America Tracie Reed negotiated their departure from the company amidst differing visions with Polyphonic's parent company and technology provider, Barcelona, Spain-based Grupo AIA.

The duo were responsible for the conceptualization and introduction of a hit prediction and calibration technology called Hit Song Science which has garnered a great deal of media attention over the past few years and has been used by both major and independent labels and endorsed by major artists.

"Technology in this field is advancing so fast we felt we had to incorporate innovations developed elsewhere in order to stay ahead of the curve. That wasn't possible in our prior situation." said McCready, who together with Reed and other former Polyphonic executives are embarking on a new venture called Platinum Blue.

Platinum Blue is positioned to be the leader of the emerging field called music intelligence offering an array of technology based solutions to the entire music industry, from artists and producers to labels, to music retailers, to music search engines and radio broadcasters /netcasters. These services will include hit prediction and calibration technologies called Music Science as well as a next generation music search and discovery platform called the Platinum Music Seeker.

Joining the senior managers in this move are the members of the advisory board they assembled while at Polyphonic which includes Ric Wake, Tommy Mottola , Vic Sarjoo, Peter Swartling and Lorin Hollander. Two new members are also welcomed; Grammy-winning producer and composer Aaron Levinson and Grammy, Clio and Emmy award winner, composer and musician, Mark Isham. They, along with the original board members will assist the Platinum Blue team in continuing to meet the new needs of industry professionals.
