MIAMI, FL. (Top40 Charts/ Bridge Records) - 'Here comes La Riquena, along with a 'Riqueno': me!" said Andy Montanez in Puerto Rico while recording for the band's debut album. After listening to Rosado's sound at a private dinner meeting in San Juan last year, the iconic Godfather of Salsa was impressed enough to offer his support with a guest vocal appearance on the album.. One week later, the title track, 'Salsalsa,' carried the unmistakable sound of Andy Montanez. With this strong a sendoff, Marlow Rosado y La Riquena seems destined to make a strong first impression in the world of 'salsa dura'.

A native of Puerto Rico, Rosado is a Salsero at heart, and grew up with the sounds of Fania. He has successfully written, played and produced hits in a variety of musical styles for some of the most renowned artists in Latin music and been nominated for multiple Grammy awards. Eventually, Rosado knew that it would be his time to make an album for the people and the music that mean the most to him.

Featuring the big band salsa sound reminiscent of the classics, and songs with strong memorable hooks, Marlow Rosado y La Riquena channel the spirits of the great Salseros, with a modern edge. "Back when I was a kid, Salseros were called "Cocolos" - that's who this record is for, the true "cocolos", whether they're new or old," says Rosado.

With the birth of La Riquena, the man behind the music takes to the stage himself, with a project close to his heart and years in the making.

The debut album will be released on March 31, 2009, by Bridge Records, an independent venture by music industry veteran producer/manager Frank Fiore, with international digital distribution by industry powerhouse The Orchard.
