SANTA MONICA, CA.(Geffen Records) - Leading the pack this summer are Chicago punk rockers Rise Against who entered the Billboard Top 200 Chart at No 10 today. The band's fourth studio album, "The Sufferer & the Witness" scanned an impressive 48,397 units it's first week of release, coming in with No 1 sales in key markets such as Los Angeles, Denver, San Diego, and Salt Lake City, and rounding out in the top 5 in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Chicago, Buffalo and Tampa. This marks the band's highest chart debut.

The band's latest single & video "Ready To Fall" is racing up the radio and video charts. The song is poised to break into the Top 20 next week. Online, the album is propelled by a No 9 position on the iTunes digital album chart, a MySpace.com Album Preview that streamed close to 600,000 times in 4 days, and strong support from Yahoo Music with an exclusive online premiere of the "Ready To Fall" video in June.

RollingStone Magazine declares that "emo's biggest badasses make a breakthrough album" and contends it "could be the album of the summer..."

You can catch the Warped Tour A-Listers on the road this summer with a massive fall tour to follow.

Rise Against is comprised of vocalist Tim McIlrath, bassist Joe Principe, drummer Brandon Barnes and guitarist Chris Chasse. In spring 2001, the band released their debut CD "The Unraveling" on Fat Wreck Chords. After two years of solid touring, Rise Against recorded "Revolutions Per Minute" (2002), followed by "Siren Song Of The Counter-Culture" produced by Gggarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Chevelle, Sick Of It All). "The Sufferer & the Witness" was produced by Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Descendants) and Jason Livermore at the Blasting Room - the same production team and studio used for "Revolutions Per Minute."
