MTV Announces Frankfurt As The Host City Of The "2012 MTV EMA"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Viacom International Media) Hallo, Germany! MTV today announced that Frankfurt will be the host city of the "2012 MTV EMA," MTV's global awards show that celebrates the year's best in music from every corner of the world and across all genres. Featuring today's hottest artists and international superstars, the "2012 MTV EMA" will broadcast live from Frankfurt's historic Festhalle on Sunday, November 11, engaging fans everywhere across MTV's multiple platforms. Following last year's record-breaking show in Belfast, the MTV EMA is returning to Frankfurt for the second time in the franchise's history (the show was held there in 2001).

"We're thrilled to be returning to Frankfurt and once again presenting the MTV EMA in such a vibrant and dynamic city," said Bob Bakish, President and CEO, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN). "The MTV EMA is without a doubt one of the biggest nights in music on the planet and showcases talent from the US to Europe to Asia to everywhere in between. This year's show in Frankfurt will definitely continue the EMA tradition of capturing the world's attention through unforgettable performances and jaw-dropping moments."

MTV also announced two confirmed sponsors: Replay will be an official pan-European sponsor of the "2012 MTV EMA." The partnership will allow seamless integration across all MTV platforms, enabling Replay to be featured on all promotional activities in the build up to the awards show, including on-air billboards, all marketing and press materials, presence on the dedicated MTV EMA microsite, as well as on-the-ground consumer promotional activities in Frankfurt.

Renaissance Hotels will be a digital sponsor for the UK, Germany and France, with on-the-ground activations in selected hotels. Additional sponsorships and partnerships will be announced in the coming weeks.

Dave Sibley, Executive Vice President of Be Viacom (Viacom's international in-house brand solutions group), commented, "Having Replay return for a second consecutive year speaks to the MTV EMA's unrivalled connection with the global youth audience, its credibility and sheer brand power. The 2012 MTV EMA offers Replay and Renaissance Hotels the ultimate vehicle to engage with young people in a targeted and powerful way."

Dan Ligtvoet, Executive Vice President & Managing Director, VIMN Northern Europe, added: "It is such a tremendous honor to host the MTV EMA in Germany. We're looking forward to our partnership with the City of Frankfurt and are proud to stage the show in Festhalle - which now holds the commendable distinction of being the only venue to ever host the MTV EMA twice."

The Lord Mayor of Frankfurt, Dr. Petra Roth said: "We're proud that MTV has chosen Frankfurt as the host city for the 2012 MTV EMA, an event that truly reflects what only MTV is capable of: hosting world class, global music events that draw fans from all over. We're excited to have Frankfurt in the spotlight again!"

"Festhalle is an iconic building in Frankfurt and will serve as a wonderful backdrop for this world class event," said Wolfgang Marzin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Messe Frankfurt, which owns Festhalle.
