Ason Wins First Prize Of The USA Songwriting Competition's Hip-Hop Category
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ ASON Official Website) From Upper Marlboro, Maryland, ASON (a.k.a. Bigsonny a.k.a. Sonnyman) won First prize of the USA Songwriting Competition as well as the Overall Third Prize. ASON, is only a spot behind music veterans Alannah Myles and Ken Hirsch who won have been responsible for No 1 Billboard hits. This is the first time that a Hip-Hop song was placed in the top three in the 15 year history of the USA Songwriting Competition.

ASON is a rapper and youth speaker with pronounced songwriting talent, skillful delivery, and a knack for slipping uplifting messages in his catchy music that drove his song "Be Inspired" to win an award at the USA Songwriting Competition. He has shared the stage with stars such as Ciara, Lil' Mo, Mary Mary, Fred Hammond, Israel & New Breed and Deitrick Haddon.

ASON is also a successful independent label owner (SonnyWorld Music, Inc.), ASON's first 3 albums have sold over 42,000 copies and song downloads. In February 2010, ASON signed a $30,000 deal with Tate Music Group for his upcoming album "Two 4 ONE," a hip-hop/R&B styled collaboration with the golden voiced Christy LOVE due in stores soon.

USA Songwriting Competition has a long history of having winners getting success, recording and publishing contracts, have their songs placed on the charts as well as having their songs placed on film and television. 2009 First Prize winner Klyer England(country) was signed to Universal Records. 2005 First Prize winner (Pop) Kate Voegele was signed to Interscope Records the year after she won and had her winning song hit top 40 on the Billboard Charts, her latest album hit Top 10 on the Billboard 200 Album charts this summer. 2007 Overall Grand Prize Winner Ari Gold had his winning song "Where The Music Takes You" hit No 10 on the Billboard Dance Charts. Judges include A&R managers from the "big 4" record companies: Universal, Warner, EMI and SONY Music.
