'Toronto Rocks': the day after

TORONTO, Canada (Rolling Stones Fans Website) - It's unanimous; the Rolling Stones rocked Toronto last night at the historic concert, which drew over 450 thousand music fans to Downsview Park. "Toronto Rocks" was viewed by millions of people worldwide in a public celebration of the end of Toronto's SARS. Even Mick Jagger was impressed by the sheer size of the event saying it was the biggest crowd the Stones had ever played to.

In true Canadian fashion, the audience behaved themselves with no major problems to report. Rumours that Bono was backstage are unconfirmed but widespread. The U2 frontman did not appear on stage like one would assume, but Justin Timberlake's "Miss You" duet with Mick Jagger went off well. Some members of the audience were less receptive to Timberlake's solo set. The *NSync star dodged water bottles while performing his hit single "Cry Me A River".

He may have had to dodge a couple of water bottles, but Justin Timberlake had nothing but positive comments about the Toronto Rocks experience when he spoke to MuchMusic after his performance. "I'm definitely behind the cause and that's why I'm here" Timberlake said. "I've been here so many times and every time I'm here this city shows me a lot of love."

At a press conference, Timberlake was good-humoured about the luke-warm reception he'd received from some of the crowd, saying, "If I was here to see AC/DC, I wouldn't want to see me either. The biggest gig I had ever played up until this point was a quarter of a million people," Justin said.
"Sso this doubles that. This is not just a landmark for music history - this is a landmark for history period. I can look back and say, 'Hey, there's something I did that I can be proud of.'"
