SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Top40 Charts/ Miss Molly Records) - Jana Mashonee, GRAMMY nominee and 7 time Native American Music Award (NAMMY) winner in every major category received her 8th NAMMY Award October 3rd at the 11th Annual NAMMY Awards for Song of the Year for her stunning rendition of the Sam Cooke classic 'A Change is Gonna Come.'

During the awards Jana left the audience breathless with her spectacular performance of 'A Change is Gonna Come' followed by a heart stopping rendition of 'Stay with Me Baby.'

'This is a great honor for me,' said Jana, 'I'm so grateful to my fans for their support and to NAMA for this award.'

The award for Song/Single of the Year is Jana's 8th NAMMY joining some of her previous NAMMY awards for Best Pop Artist, Best Female Artist, Song of the Year, Best Pop Recording and Record of the Year.
'A Change is Gonna Come' was produced by Stephan Galfas and Jana performed the song at this year's American Indian Inaugural Ball for President Barack Obama.

Jana's new Pop/R&B CD 'New Moon Born' on Miss Molly Records will be distributed in October by Sony in the US and Canada. 'New Moon Born' and 'A Change is Gonna Come' have already been met with critical acclaim.

Jana's previous NAMMY awards are for her albums Flash of a Firefly, American Indian Story and American Indian Christmas.

The Native American Music awards will be televised nationally later this year.
