SAN FRANCISCO, CA. (Top40 Charts/ IODA) - IODA, the global leader in digital distribution, marketing, and technology solutions for the independent music industry, today announced a worldwide distribution deal with legendary Ace Records. Well known as the world's leading blues, soul, rock 'n' roll and rock reissue label, Ace Records expands IODA's catalog of more than one million tracks with music from some of popular music's most renowned artists including John Lee Hooker, Link Wray, James Carr, Millie Jackson, Motorhead and The Damned. While these artists have become household names for millions of fans, Ace is even better known for having introduced more arcane but great recordings to a wider audience. The announcement was made today at the London Calling conference in London, UK.

Through IODA's global distribution network, Ace Records will now have virtual shelf space at more than 400 digital retailers, mobile outlets and subscription services. In addition to distribution, it will leverage Promonet, IODA's groundbreaking digital marketing platform, to drive on-line and off-line sales. Promonet allows labels to reach the Internet's most valuable tastemakers: the more than 3,000 digital retailers, music websites, social networks, bloggers, podcasters, internet radio programmers, and music supervisors around the world that are members of the growing Promonet promotional distribution network.

Ace Records Managing Director Roger Armstrong said: "In conjunction with IODA, Ace wants to move the download world forward into the past, with the addition of the contextual information that it has long been providing on CD."
For over 30 years Ace has pioneered high quality re-issues, introducing many old artists to new audiences along the way, and contributing to the current climate in which regardless of whether it is old or new music, what matters is that it is good music. With its massively successful CD series including Golden Age Of Rock 'N' Roll and Dave Godin's Deep Soul Treasures, Ace has broadened the musical horizon for thousands of fans.

"We needed a digital partner that had both a strong technology platform and music expertise," said Chris Lines, licensing manager, Ace Records. "After careful review of our options, we knew the IODA team was the ideal partner to take our catalog to the digital market. Everyone at IODA not only knew the digital side of the business but also had a real understanding of the physical side, which is where Ace Records has formed its worldwide reputation. The move into digital is a hugely exciting move for us, and IODA helped make the transition as painless as possible."

"Ace Records has become an institution in the music industry - known worldwide for its large catalog and its passion for great music and legendary artists," commented Erik Gilbert, VP, Content at IODA. "Ace plays an important role in the availability of music from the latter half of the 20th century and so our role in making this incredible catalog available to the world through our digital network is exciting for us. We look forward to a great partnership."
