PJ Morton Wins Best Traditional R&B Performance, Marking His 5th Career Grammy Award!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) PJ Morton celebrated his fifth career GRAMMY win as an independent, self-produced artist. Earning the award for Best Traditional R&B Performance with "Good Morning (feat. Susan Carol)" - a category he previously took home in 2019, for his signature spin on "How Deep Is Your Love" - this latest honor also marked his seventh consecutive year of GRAMMY® nominations, for a song that would have never seen the light of day if not for the love of the fans who finally convinced him to finish it. While "Good Morning" had been in the works since the days before Morton's 2017 breakthrough, Gumbo, it took until 2023 to answer the overwhelming requests to release it as a single. He found the perfect duet partner in rising star Susan Carol, who as a result received her first GRAMMY® win and nomination - watch her and PJ Morton debut it live on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

PJ Morton was unable to attend yesterday's GRAMMY® Awards as he is currently touring with Maroon 5 in Africa, a place where he spent a life-changing month of the past year, writing, producing and performing with dozens of local musicians across the continent. In a recent interview, Essence described the journey as "a spiritual return" and "a chance to connect deeper with the genres that have shaped his sound…the soul of Africa pulses through every note he plays and every word he sings." He will soon begin unveiling the album he made during those transformative 30 days, starting with a new single called "Please Be Good," out February 23rd.

In addition to his next chapter of music arriving imminently, PJ Morton is also writing, arranging and producing original music for Disney's upcoming Disneyland and Disney World attraction, Tiana's Bayou Adventure. As the first Black composer to write an original song for a Disney attraction, the collaboration is a dream come true for the New Orleans native and father of three, featuring new songs and fresh arrangements of favorites from Disney film The Princess and the Frog, all of which visitors will be able to hear when it opens this year.

Furthermore, PJ Morton is working on several different film, television and literary projects that he will be able to officially announce in the coming weeks and months, as 2024 is shaping up to be his biggest and busiest year to date.

In the meantime, find his upcoming live shows, including headline dates in Asia, New Zealand, Australia and more, before the next leg of Maroon 5's Las Vegas residency this spring.
