Crown Lands Unleash Ferocious Cover Of The Beatles Rally Song "Come Together" As The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Anthem
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Juno Award-winning, powerhouse rock duo Crown Lands - Cody Bowles (vocals and drums) and Kevin Comeau (guitar, bass, and keys) - reveal a raw rendition of The Beatles' quintessential rally song, "Come Together," released in partnership with TSN as part of a campaign for the Canadian Men's National Team as they gear up for the FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022 starting November 20. Starting today, expect to hear Crown Lands' version of "Come Together" across TSN platforms, including national broadcasts, throughout the tournament in support of Canada's team. A teaser has been shared today with the full campaign rolling out over the next few weeks. This is the first time since 1986 that Canada's men's team has qualified for the FIFA WORLD CUP and Crown Lands' version of the song captures the spirit of this historic occasion.

Crown Lands infuse the 1969 original with a jolt of their distinct style. Bowels chants the familiar lyrics over pummelling guitars and cascading drums creating palpable energy. Crown Lands describe, "We specifically recorded 'Come Together' for the purpose of a partnership opportunity and it has worked out beautifully, we're honoured for the song to be a part of the FIFA WORLD CUP QATAR 2022™. There is no disputing the magic that The Beatles created together and it's nice for us to have 'Come Together' to add our little twist to it. In other words, we cranked the vocals up an octave, added a metric-ton of Leslie guitars and threw in some fat Taurus synth bass bombs into an already great song."

"Thanks to ongoing collaborations with TSN, when the opportunity to soundtrack a pivotal moment for Canadian sports came up, we knew Crown Lands had the ability to create something that would resonate with that energy and captivate fans," said JP Boucher, Senior Vice President, Marketing, at Universal Music Canada. "Crown Lands have consistently come to the table with powerful, sophisticated original music that's deeply rooted in the past while evolving for the future and we're proud to say they delivered with a track that will support Team Canada through the tournament."

Crown Lands continue to introduce themselves to the rest of the world through their high energy live shows. This month, they join Greta Van Fleet on the final leg of their "Dreams In Gold" world tour as it wraps up in the U.S. Early next year, they will head out with fellow Canadian rock outfit, July Talk, playing iconic venues across their home country on "The Never Remember Tour."

Crown Lands are born storytellers. Advocates for the LGBTQ+ and indigenous communities. Counter-culturalists for the 21st century, informed by a cocktail of ancient voices, social injustice, science-fiction, and musical narrators from Rush to Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin to John Butler. Since meeting in 2015 at a band audition, singer/drummer Bowles (a half-Mi'kmaq who identifies as Two Spirit) and guitarist/keyboardist Comeau have cultivated a diverse sonic and lyrical palette. Touchstones range from the mistreatment of Canada's indigenous population to Buddhist meditation master Chögyam Trungpa, the worlds of J.R.R. Tolkien and Dune author Frank Herbert.

Originally, they got their foot in the door with raw blues rock, on their Juno-nominated, 2020 self-titled LP, working with Grammy nominated Dave Cobb. This paved the way for an introduction to three of Crown Lands heroes: Terry Brown, Nick Raskulinecz, and David Bottrill - all prolific producers that worked with them on their breakthrough track "Context: Fearless Pt. 1," which premiered on Rolling Stone. After a steady stream of new music, the band's fresh approach and mission-driven catalogue garnered them the 2021 Juno Award for "Breakthrough Group of the Year."
With the latest instalment of tour dates and stacked with new music, Crown Lands are ready to bring elegant, clever, progressive rock to the masses.
