Big Sugar Announce Heated 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Set To Release October 14, 2022
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Platinum-selling band Big Sugar announce the 25th Anniversary deluxe edition of their iconic album, Heated, set to release October 14, 2022, through Universal Music. The deluxe album has been remastered and expanded to feature four additional tracks including an acoustic version of "Better Get Used To It," "Je Suis Cool" and "Alka Lights" ft. Whitey Don. As well, the album includes a cover of Wings classic song, "Let Me Roll It" which is out now as the lead single.

The Heated 25th Anniversary Deluxe album will be available as a double LP gatefold package, pressed on orange and green vinyl with extensive new artwork from the band's personal archives. Foreword by Warren Haynes of Govt. Mule. Also available on CD and all digital platforms.

Heated was the fourth album by Big Sugar originally released on Sept 29th, 1998. The album was certified Platinum in Canada, selling over 100,000 copies. 'Heated' features some of the best of Big Sugar's repertoire and concert staples including 'Better Get Used to It, The Scene, Girl Watcher, Turn the Lights on and a cover of BTO's 'Let It Ride.' The newly remastered tracks which were produced by Grammy-nominated, bandleader Gordie Johnson invigorates the iconic roots rock reggae sound that is so signature Big Sugar.

Big Sugar returns to the stage with a new show and lineup. After the tragic death of longtime bassist Garry Lowe in 2018, Gordie Johnson spent the past 4 years reimagining Big Sugar and is proud to announce new bassist, Ben Lowe, the 22-year-old son of Garry Lowe. "Our music has always been about roots and culture and this is a perfect piece of that evolution. You can hear Big Sugar in Ben's DNA." A renewed Big Sugar will also include former tourmates drummer Joe Magistro (Black Crowes, B52's). Big Sugar will be touring the Heated 25th Anniversary release across Canada in Winter 2022 and early 2023, stay tuned for upcoming show date announcements.

Big Sugar boldly goes forth in 2022 with new music from their latest release "Eternity Now" and vinyl re-issues of their classic albums Five Hundred Pounds from Third Man Records, as well as Hemi-Vision and Heated from Universal Music Canada.
In the 90s Big Sugar emerged clad in Hugo Boss suits as the antithesis to the grunge esthetic with a unique combination of Jamaican rhythms, Blues tonality, and heavy Rock aggression. They dominated the airwaves and highways with songs like "Diggin A Hole," "The Scene," "Turn The Lights On" and "Roads Ahead." Their Roots Rock Reggae style has built a loyal following, earning Big Sugar a 2015 Road Gold Award as they continue to sell out concerts across North America. Gordie Johnson's guitar playing and album production continue to influence a new generation.
