John Anderson Joins Growing List Of Celebrities Slated To Appear At Twenty-first Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards On October 22
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) One of Country Music's most recognizable voices, the award-winning John Anderson, will make a rare appearance at the upcoming Twenty-first Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country™ Awards (also known as the ICMs) to be held Thursday, October 22 at 7 P.M. at Cornerstone Nashville (726 W. Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, Tenn.). Anderson, whose nearly 40-year career has produced 23 albums and 20 top-ten hits including "I'm Just an Old Chunk of Coal," "Swinging," "Seminole Wind," and "Somebody Slap Me," joins the ever-growing list of celebrities slated to perform and/or appear at this year's awards, most notably T. Graham Brown, The Roys, Miss Tennessee USA Hope Stephens, Jeff Bates, Nadine of "Larry's Country Diner" and The Wacaster Family, just to name a few. Anderson will perform "Don't Forget to Thank the Lord," from his most-recent album, Goldmine, (his first album in nine years, independently produced alongside longtime collaborator Joe Spivey).

Emceed by multi-award winning Christian recording artist Melanie Walker, host of TCT Networks' "Come on In with Melanie Walker" and the "Sessions" concert series, the televised award show honors the biggest names and showcases emerging talent in Inspirational and Christian Country Music. This year's nominees include Carrie Underwood, Rhonda Vincent, Hunter Hayes, RaeLynn, Joey + Rory, Craig Wayne Boyd, Mary James, Laura Dodd, Kristina Craig & Exit 148, Chonda Pierce and more (for a complete list of nominees, click here). Tickets for the awards show are available to the public and range from $15 for balcony seats to $35 for floor.

This year's show will pay special tribute to our local heroes. First Responders (EMT, Fire, Police), as well as military servicemen and women, will receive TWO FREE tickets to the ICM Faith, Family & Country™ Awards with ID (visit faithfamilycountry.com, click on "Buy Tickets" and enter the promo code "HERO" where prompted). Additionally, a portion of this year's proceeds will be donated to Operation Troop Aid (a 501c3 organization that, since 2004, has provided over 7 MILLION dollars in care packages to deployed servicemen and women).

The ICM Faith, Family & Country™ Awards are taped and broadcast on the The Family Channel, Heartland, NRB Network, TCT Networks, The Worship Network, Lifestyle/CTN Network and Total Living Network (check local schedule listings on each network for broadcast times in your area), reaching its largest potential audience to date--a record-breaking two billion households worldwide. The ICMs are additionally supported through the weekly 2-hour radio show, Power Source Country, now nationally syndicated in over 100 markets through Westwood One.

"Our organization represents the millions of incredibly loyal fans who love Country Music with an uplifting and positive message, explains Jason Higgins, ICM Executive Director. "While Country Music has often carried a darker message, it is also an incredible platform for artists and entertainers to inspire us: to build our faith, strengthen our families, instill a sense of national pride, and to challenge us to be better people. This is what our awards show and convention week is all about--honoring and supporting those entertainers who use the format in a positive way."

The Twenty-first Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country™ Awards is the culmination of ICM Week, October 18-22, which draws music fans, media and top-industry executives from across the nation for a wide array of activities held throughout Music City. The convention includes a celebrity softball game, songwriting panels, open jams, seminars on industry issues, Power Source No. 1 Party, Media Appreciation Luncheon, a women's conference, exhibit hall, and nightly concerts and fellowship. ICM Week kicks off this Sunday with the "Honky Tonkin' Opry" starting at 6 P.M. at Grace Point Church (2100 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, Tenn.).
