Electrical charge nearly kills songwriter Nico Demonte during recording of new album

NEW YORK (ASTLEY PR) - Amid shocking rumors that the band had broken up, sources report that songwriter Nico Demonte escaped a lethal dose of electrical charge during the recording of his much anticipated album.
'It was during the recording of Nico Demonte's single 'ATM GIRL' that an electrical charge sent the studio without power' reports Anna Astley, PR agent for the songwriter. 'We noticed that a cloud of smoke dissipated near the microphone where Nico had been singing, leaving him in shock. Songwriter Nico Demonte was then rushed for immediate medical treatment, and released. The songwriter declined comment and is now resting at an undisclosed location.

Demonte was scheduled to release the album this September, followed by a North American tour which features choreographed dancers, a live show of synth pop acts and live video feeds. Astley would not comment if the tour would be delayed. 'Nico's fans are just happy that he is alive and well, he is elated by the outpouring of support and is blessed every day,' stated Astley, 'The album will be released as scheduled.' Astley reports that a date will be set for the tour.

Trend-setting critics like Goldstein and Rubenstein have placed Demonte's style into the 'Electroclash' category, a word that Nico Demonte steadfastly denies. Nico Demonte tells Anna Astley that 'the 80's are over, ' replying that 'I was into the 80's way before it became fashion symbol.'

The songwriter is preparing a remix album that highlights the legends of new wave 80's bands like Devo, Air Supply, Kraftwerk, Joy Division, Talking Heads, and Ultravox. He tells Astley that he is not remixing Gary Numan's 'Cars' to secure a Hollywood deal. His statement and trend-setting cultural artifacts are established through fashion and art as it is through music. In fact, the songwriter has turned down a number of lucrative record deals since the release of his remix.
'I recently worked on covers that people may consider to be '80's' Hollywood glam. Some people could think that it's reinventing the 80's new wave movement. If they want to misunderstand Nico Demonte's artistic vision then that's their problem.'
